It's not easy these days for "reality-based" Americans. Unemployment is up, living wages are down, over 36 million of us struggle with poverty and 47 million languish without health insurance. Thousands of service members and countless civilians have died in pointless quagmires in Afghanistan and Iraq, while the administration's $670 billion so-called war on terror ravages America's reputation and threatens national security.

Yet Bush tells us to "stay the course." 

Only fools stay the course when it's heading over a cliff, and that's why I wrote The Progressives' Handbook: Get the Facts and Make a Difference Now series.
