Women across the country have run into problems when they've tried to get birth control pills and Emergency Contraception (EC); pharmacists have refused to fill prescriptions because of their personal beliefs about contraception and pharmacies have failed to keep supplies in stock. What's going on at your local pharmacy? Find out in advance. Thank the pharmacy if it stocks and provides birth control pills and EC with no hassle but if it doesn't, protest in whatever way you feel comfortable: write a letter to the editor, contact local officials, join others in making a mini-boycott of the store&ldots; any positive action that it takes to get the pharmacy to reconsider.

If you're interested in some internet activism then head on over to NARAL Pro-Choice America's birth control access campaign.82 You can write a letter to your editor, download a petition, submit your own story, urge pharmacy chains such as Walgreens and Wal-mart to honor women's prescriptions, and even watch a brief educational film.
